This Business Development role will focus on collaborate with the relevant support teams to develop cold chain solutions for target customers, work with the purchasing team to optimize revenue, set and execute the sales strategy.


In addition, this role will be heavily on :

  • Identify and exploit market opportunities, with new customers to expand FM USA business for Ocean Freight or food cold chain, ensure overall profitability
  • Develop relevant internal and external KPIs to measure the sales performance and meeting budget expectations
  • Develop relevant internal and external KPIs to measure the operational performance with key client teams to drive high customer satisfaction
  • Together with Operations team, prepare SOPs for new accounts and monitor the successful on-boarding of new business
  • Develop budgets, as well as provide reporting on business performance in an honest, accurate and timely manner in accordance agreed upon goals
  • Provide intelligence feedback related to the prevailing business environment and occasionally carry out marketing studies
  • Build strategic relationships with customers, influencing decisions and driving opportunities throughout the sales cycle
  • Communicate sales plans & status to management
  • Collaborate strategically across Business lines to plan and implement business development and sales activities to increase and maximize group profitability
  • Work with key client teams to ensure seamless customer boarding experience, host regular business review to identify areas for service improvement, enhance and promote customer permanence through maintaining and building open and collaborative relationships

  • Experience in developing and managing sales budgets
  • Experience in complex contract negotiations with senior customer stakeholders
  • Strong commercial orientation and high level of business acumen
  • Able to inspire, motivate, influence, build commitment, earn respects of others and gain buy-ins, both internally and externally at multiple levels
  • Able to think comprehensively for each project, able to set up process for pilot, tweak and commercialise
  • With a high degree of personal accountability, high customer service orientation and results driven mentality
  • Develop strong communication, influencing and collaboration skills both internally and externally
  • Excellent knowledge of ocean reefer cold chain trade lane segments, commodities and customer base
  • Proven track record of business development of minimum 8 years with extensive experience in freight forwarding industry specializing in food service cold chain and related industry verticals 
  • Exposed to global food service brands
  • Experience in sales strategy development and implementation, demonstrate ability to deliver results within a complex and competitve business environment
  • Ability to offer unique perspectives on business issues, analysing data and informaiton and create customized solutions to drive customer value


  • Excellent strategic thinking and planning skills, must have an innate business sense and ability to make contribution to larger enterprise objectives, able to translate needs into solutions, concept into reality
  • Exceptional strategic account management, experience in multiple selling styles and approaches and leading complex contract negotiations with seniors
