Responsibilities

This position reports to the Manager, Financial Analysis, and will be primarily engaged as directed in projects supporting the Packaging business unit. These projects will require research, analysis, model building and creation of appropriate summary and communication documents. This position will have monthly accounting and financial analysis responsibilities and will assist with the month-end close and reporting of financial results. Additional responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting and financial forecasting for Local Market Activity Business Units, Latin America Packaging and potentially other Packaging Division departments
  • Administer raw material contracts, track rebates, and calculate usage
  • Work on cross-functional teams to quantify financial impacts of project scenarios
  • Support risk management activities via commodity and hedge tracking
  • Oversee global cost benchmarking process
  • Analyze customers’ packaging spend in relation to competitors, packaging cost drivers and trends
  • Support service fee revenue tracking and financial reporting and reconciliation of payments from suppliers
  • Assist with other miscellaneous monthly financial accounting and reporting activities and ad hoc projects 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • BS in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
  • 1+ years' experience in finance/accounting or other business analysis role
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills for creation of spreadsheet models, graphs, and tables
  • Outstanding communication
  • Ability to shift between multiple priorities
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Creative thinker and problem solver

Additional experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:

  • Accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Using database query tools (i.e. Siebel Analytics, Cognos)
  • Cost accounting and/or project accounting
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts and financial reporting
  • JD Edwards or similar ERP
  • Oracle Business Intelligence
