    Responsibilities

    HAVI is seeking an intern to support the Packaging Sustainability team during summer 2019 (June 3 - August 16) in our Downers Grove location.

     

    As a HAVI intern, you will participate in exciting projects and assignments that support our fast-paced business while working on your own and with team members as you embark on your career.

     

    We offer a 10-week program, 36-hour work-weeks, and a lunch subsidy to all interns!

     

    Key assignments & projects:

    • Research topics related to packaging sustainability and present findings
    • Support development of supplier performance communication materials in relation to Sustainability expectations
    • Conduct data collation and quality review for packaging sustainability performance metrics
    • Specific project to be defined; projects of past interns have included:

      • Support report compilation, data analysis and visual display of packaging sustainability data used to track key packaging sustainability metrics.
      • Conducting interviews and research to compile information regarding food service packaging recycling access across multiple geographies around the globe.
      • ISO 14001 audit support, including conducting interviews with key stakeholders, providing input into impact analysis, updating documentation, attending audit.

    Desired Skills & Experience

    Successful intern candidates meet the following requirements:  

    • Must be available June 3 - August 16
    • Minimum requirement of junior year college completion
    • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the internship (e.g., Environmental Science)
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0 
    • Demonstrated time management skills through course work and extracurricular activities
    • MS Office experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Good written and verbal communication
    • Collaborative/teamwork oriented
